HR Assistant $18+/hr

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Functions:

  1. Generates and proofreads correspondence for all Human Resource staff. Responsible for receiving and distributing mail for the Human Resources department.
  2. Provides administrative support for New Hire Orientation. Conducts background checks and pre-employment drug screenings. Completes the Office of State Fire Marshal registration process, updates the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) rosters, processes I-9 Forms, and conducts E-Verify inquiries. Compiles packets for New Hire Orientation.
  3. Schedules exit interviews and generates exit packages; generates state service certificates and orders state service pins; coordinates headquarter service award meetings. Maintains the agency’s organizational chart. Ensures the organizational chart s updated accurately and timely.
  4. Responsible for filing and retrieving all personnel records and documents.
  5. Performs other duties in support of the agency’s mission and strategic plan and other incidental and related duties as required.

 

Requirements

  1. Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite applications
  2. This position is in an office environment. Must be able to lift 25 lbs, bend, squat, and file documents
  3. Direct supervision. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to and complying with the federal, state, and agency’s policies, procedures, and regulations.
  4. A high school diploma and three years’ work experience in a human resource or an administrative work environment; or equivalent education and experience. Human Resources may approve an equivalency.
